As part of the approved practical curriculum for students at the College of Medicine, Al-Subtain University for Medical Sciences, the Physiology Laboratory continued delivering specialized laboratory sessions on Red Blood Cell (RBC) Count and Hematocrit (HCT) Measurement, aiming to strengthen students' practical competencies and integrate theoretical knowledge with laboratory applications.

The session included hands-on training in the use of the microscope and the manual counting of red blood cells, in addition to instruction on the scientific principles of hematocrit measurement and the interpretation of laboratory results according to standard clinical procedures. These activities contribute to developing students' proficiency in performing fundamental physiological and hematological investigations.

Red blood cell count and hematocrit measurement are among the most important laboratory investigations used to evaluate the blood's oxygen-carrying capacity. They also serve as essential diagnostic tools for identifying anemia, dehydration, and various hematological disorders, further preparing students for advanced laboratory and clinical practice throughout their medical education.
